magical-mistral:

[German entry since I guess most of you coming will be capable of the German language. ;) If not, just send me an ask and I will give you a translation. For everybody else: Even if you’re not coming, spreading the word would be greatly appreciated!]

So, meine Lieben,

Second Annual Sherlock Holmes Picnic in Regents Park!

bakerstreetbabes:

A few people have been asking us about this event, so here’s the information for you! WE ARE NOT RUNNING THIS… we’ll just be going. Please direct all questions HERE.

The sun is shining, London is in bloom and it’s the perfect time for a very Sherlockian picnic.

OK, so that’s not true, but it will be true on 14 July when we are organising the Second Annual Sherlock Holmes Picnic in Regents Park!

We’ll meet in the park at 12 noon at the Bandstand in Regents Park (marked on this map http://g.co/maps/4mkxm) for the picnic. We think it would be great if as well as bringing something for yourself – sandwich, salad, sausage roll, you know, the usual – everyone tries to bring something to share with the group – crisps, cakes, fruit, sweets etc. The bonus is there will be a prize for the best Sherlock related food. We had some really funky biscuits last year so the standard is high.

If you’re coming from a distance and don’t want to lug food around with you we’ve pinpointed a few local places where you can buy food on the map (we particularly recommend Speedy’s which is only a 20 minute walk away from the park, and may look familiar.)

Also, if anyone has a picnic blanket they could bring we would really appreciate it!

Then for the afternoon we’ve got a treasure hunt planned – John has been kidnapped by crazed fangirls, can you help Sherlock get his blogger back before it’s too late? – as well as quizzes, games and the opportunity to win more prizes!

All this will be followed by dinner in the evening (we’re going to try and book Tapas Brindisa, aka Angelo’s, but if they haven’t got room expect Italian).

If you’re interested in coming it would be really great if you could let us know as soon as possible, as we’re going to sort people into teams for the games ahead of time using our Magical Sorting Deerstalker. You’ll receive a message telling you your team a week before the event. There will be team badges but if you want to go the extra effort and dress up for your team that would be brilliant.

However, it’s also fine if you just show up on the day, we’ll slot you in somewhere.

If you want to contact us you can leave a comment here, find us on LJ at trillsabells or flawedamythyst or follow us on Twitter at @Trillsabells and @Flawedamythyst using the hashtag #SHPicnic

Oh, and if London dares to not live up to my promise of a shining sun, rainy day arrangements will be made.

Come along for fun, food, squee and Sherlock! All are welcome!

London Sherlock meet

insanitychronicles:

After recent events, it is my pleasure to announce that there are plans for a Sherlock meet up in London, following the encounters myself and my dear Watson had with several lovely Sherlockians cosplaying at MCM expo in May.

It would be lovely to see all of you again, and of course any London Sherlockians or other Sherlockians who are able to attend are most welcome to do so as well. I must ask though that you inform me of your desire to attend (simply as an act of courtesy, and because I shall be most intrigued to see what the numbers amassing are like).

We shall be meeting up on 13th July in North Gower Street, after which we intend to visit the filming locations, and Baker Street (and the Sherlock Holmes museum), before heading over to Trafalgar Square. The open space there will likely be ideal for flash mobs and the mock crime scenes that proved rather popular at the expo meet. You are most welcome to come along in cosplay, as myself and several other individuals who have been previously informed are intending to.

If you have any questions don’t hesisitate to contact me. The game, my dear Sherlockians, is on!

OOC: Bay Area Sherlockian Minicon!

askjohnof221b:

Just another note that I’ll be there this Sunday— as myself, as John, and also as Sherlock to not help people with the scavenger hunt.

Will probably be dressed as Sherlock for the screening Reichenbach. Balls.

Only slightly better-looking than I do right there. Hopefully.

Sherlock what is your face I’m sorry I have no blue contacts or eyeballs maybe I can just keep some blue eyes in a jar if people give me sass because you know that isn’t creepy at all if it’s for SCIENCE

If curious about the con, and you’re anywhere in the San Fransisco Bay Area, check it out here:

Swiss Sherlockian Meetup, June 16, all the juicy details.

hugoalexandertimothycartwright:

Final details for the Swiss Sherlockian Meetup at the Reichenbach falls.

What:

Meiringen, the town next to the Reichenbach falls is located in the Berner Oberland and is surrounded by skiing-regions so keep in mind it could be chillier than in the flatlands (god, I feel like my mom-.-).

We will meet up and board the train to Meiringen together. One meeting point will be in Zurich Mainstation and one in Lucerne. In Meiringen we will find a nice spot for our picnic before heading to the funicular railway (ca. 20min walking). After that we will head back to the heart of Meiringen, the Conan Doyle Place to visit the Sherlock Holmes Museum.

Cosplay is very welcome and expect some Vatican Cameos.;P

Prices:

  • train tickets: From Zurich to Meiringen, retour it’s 40.- with a Halbtax, Gemeinde Tageskarten might be an option or if you have a friend with a GA who’s coming too, ask if they’d get you a Mitnahme GA for 30.-
  • the funicular costs 10.- up and back,
  • the museum entry fee is 4.-
  • this are the max costs, you can likely expect group discounts on the funicular and on the museum, but yeah. Just so you can make a budget.:)

When/Where:

  • Meetup in Zurich Mainstation: 9:15 at the Meeting Point
  • We will take the train from Zurich at 9:35, platform 4 and arrive at 10:25 in Lucerne
  • Meetup in Lucerne: 10:30 at the beginning (that’s by the main hall, folks) of platform 12
  • We will take the train from Lucerne at 10:55 and arrive in Meiringen at 12:12

Last but not least: In case of bad weather: Picnic on the train instead of outside and holing up in the Migros Restaurant for some tea (or you can roam the village of course).

Track the tag Swiss Sherlockian Meetup to be informed if anything comes up, you can ask me anything if you have any questions or concerns.

My phone nr is 067 446 73 64 and if any of you misuse it there will be death and destruction. If you’re contacting me about the meetup on the other hand it will all be flowers and kittens.;)

SIGNAL BOOOOOOOOST

areyoutryingtodeduceme:

I’ve been seeing lots of other meet up posts for Frankenstein starring Benedict Cumberbatch going around, so I thought I’d add one for the Atlanta Area! Now, there are a few theaters around (not in, sadly) Atlanta showing the play, so this is all info for where I’ve bought my tickets. Anyone that can get tickets and wants to join my friend Jackie and I are welcome to come!
When: June 6th (Wednesday) and 7th (Thursday). I have tickets and will be attending both evenings. The 6th features Benedict as the creature, and the 7th he’ll be playing the doctor. The Show starts at 7 p.m., but I was hoping we could get together earlier, at 5 p.m., to grab a bite before hand.
Where: UA North Point Market 8 (6500 North Point Pkwy, Alpharetta, GA 30022). As far as food in the area for dinner…I’ve never actually been to the theater, but apparently it’s by Northpoint Mall (which I’ve also never been to) and it looks like there’s a LOT of food options in the area. I figure we’ll meet up at the theater first, then decide where to get food, unless something gets decided before then.
How: You can get tickets here! (Please sure to select the date[s] you want!) Once you know what day you’re coming, if you’d like to RSVP, email sherlocks.signature@gmail.com and I’ll send along my phone number or something so you can get in touch with me the day of if you have trouble finding the group.
Also: I’ll probably bring along Benedict tea blends (Sherlock, Third Star, The Lemon is in Play, The Mind and Heart, and his other shipping blends) for people to sample if we can figure out a way to make that happen.

i-believe-in-sh:

If you’re lucky you will even get a poster.

We also promote other Sherlock related things.

SHERLOCK MEET UP. Exeter, UK. On the 21st July. Cosplayers welcome, 11am on the Cathedral Green. :) Poster pending.
SHERLOCK MEET UP Sweden. Details: Malmoe, 2 June, 13.00, outside the MQ shop at Triangeln.

thriftshoppernc:

I am torn between the showings that feature Benedict as The Creature, or as the Doctor.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller alternate the roles of Victor Frankenstein and the Creature in two electrifying broadcasts. Benedict Cumberbatch will play the Creature on Monday (6/4) and Friday (6/8). He will play Victor Frankenstein on Thursday (6/7) and Saturday (6/9). Jonny Lee Miller will play Victor Frankenstein Monday (6/4) and Friday (6/8). He will play the Creature on Thursday (6/7) and Saturday (6/9).

So which day should I go, and is ANYONE else interested? Please let me know!

i made another post for the North Carolina meetup
i’ve decide i want to be a part of a sherlock holmes group for london mcm excel october 2012

moriartyhasthethneed:

and i don’t just mean bbc sherlock.

i mean sherlock holmes movies, shows, bbc sherlock, hogwarts!sherlock - every kind of sherlock holmes we can get.

why? because it will be fun.

the mcm expo is on the final weekend of may and october every year. this may, i was lucky enough to find a sherlock and john walking around. i’ve ordered my sherlock cosplay already. but you know another thing that makes me excited and makes me want to do this?

the fact that there are always zombies in october.

so we should prepare for a sherpocalypse. have a photoshoot. do everything we want.

also the expo is on my birthday so we can all go to the sherlock holmes restaurant.
